Finished my 1940's inspired tailored jacket!

For my 1st project as a 2nd year student in university, we were given a tailoring project which I chose the 1940's as my key inspiration. Throughout the project I looked at the large reverse and the strong shoulder silhouette details which this jacket has a high 3cm shoulder pad in both sides. During my design development, the crop silhouette was chosen as well as two jet pockets and a 2.5cm button. The strong shoulder is a power statement, which the colour red links with very well. My colour palette for my collection consisted of red, brown, grey, white and black.
I'm very happy with it's outcome and cannot wait to wear it!

Edwina Scissorhands

I thought Halloween would be an interesting way to develop my fashion illustrations and get more people to discover them therefore I've asked people to send me their Halloween Outfits for me to illustrate! I thought Edwina Scissorhands was a really cool and interesting costume to illustrate. With this one I practised a new facial expression and stand. Hope you like it!

University Tailoring Project.

My first project in my second year at University is a 9week Tailoring project which I'm currently halfway through and now starting the making of my final design process! Above is a photograph of the Toile I've made so far. My inspiration for this project has been the 1940s. I'm very please that everything looks just how I imagined whilst designing, the 4cm shoulder pads giving a strong, powerful edge, and the large revers. I can't wait to start sewing it in it's final Red fabric.

Vintage

Just started my 2nd year back at the University for the Creative Arts. Our first projects is based on tailored jackets. Whilst researching over the summer I came accross this tailored jacket and fell in love with it. Very inspired by it's era, furred collar and bold colour.

Cubey Trainer.

I wanted to try drawing a different form of fashion from the usual clothes I draw, therefore I chose to design a trainer to draw. For some reason I really liked the idea of cubes, therefore decided I'd design this trainer with cubes on it.
This is suppose to be a unisex trainer. I like it's outcome, I would wear this trainer if I could make it.

Welcome Home

"Welcome Home" by Jessica Withey.
I chose this name as I thought it was appropriate to my illustration & creates a story to the audience.
I've had reviews of this being "shocking, risqué yet fabulous." Which I'm very proud of. Why draw if it's not going to catch people's eyes? And who doesn't want to be seen as sexy? Shocking, risqué is far more exciting than a "good drawing."

My 1st Male Fashion Illustration!

Today I went out of my comfort zone and drew a male fashion illustration for the 1st time! I chose to draw my best friend Matt. I'm very pleased with how it's turned out. I did find drawing a man difficult at first as I'm so used to drawing women, yet I believe 'Life begins outside of your comfort zone' and now that I've managed to do one male illustration, I can practise and make more!

Lipstick Love

I love lipstick, it can dress up or dress down your whole outfit. Red for the night, nude for the day. I have a growing collection of MAC lipsticks as I believe they're the best so here I decided to draw some of my own. I thought it would be interesting to draw each lipstick at a different angle to show how it looks at all angles.

Lucy Watson from Made In Chelsea

Made in Chelsea is one of my favourite TV programs at the moment and when I saw this photo of Lucy Watson at the Man Of Steel premiere last week I loved her dress so much that I drew it.

Rude Girl

The look I was going for in this outfit was a Rihanna look. My T-shirt says RUDE, so to match my T-shirt with my behaviour, I decided to swear for the photo.

My Birthday Outfit.

Recently I turned 20 years old, from looking at Spring/Summer 2013 trends, here is the outfit I chose to wear.
